Tree Risk Assessment (TRAQ Qualified) & Approved Instructor
We specialize in professional tree risk assessments using a three-tiered system aligned with ISA’s Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) standards. Founder Don Picker is not only TRAQ certified—he’s an approved instructor who has trained hundreds across North America, Asia, and Europe.
We evaluate trees through three assessment levels:
Level 1: Basic Assessment (Limited Visual Assessment) (normally applied for quick observation)
Used for large tree populations; (often for a quick turn-around or following a weather event)
Maps tree locations and species (similar to a tree survey or inventory)
Identifies visible health or structural concerns
Level 2: Basic Tree Risk Assessment, Visual Inspection 360° Ground-Based
Ideal for large or high-risk trees
Analyzes structural aspects of failure potential, impact likelihood, and consequences; full detailed report provided with provision of all possible mitigation applications described
Level 3: Advanced Assessment
Used when hidden or hard-to-view hazards are suspected in the crown or internally
Includes:
On-Rope Aerial Climbing & Aerial Lift Access for upper-canopy inspection, with full report
Sonic Tomography (Arbotom®) and Resistograph® to analyze internal structure; (with special arrangements)
Root Assessment with Air Spade® (for high-level or large project jobs)
Soil Sampling for moisture, structure, and pH
We can provide laboratory analysis by working on clients behalf with local universities
